On-Request 'Woodbridge' is an on-request service operated by York Region Transit in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada.
Route Details
This service provides on-request pick-up and drop-off to all stops along the routing of route 10, which includes:
- Chancellor Drive
- Chrislea Road
- Islington Avenue
- Kipling Avenue
- Langstaff Road
- Martin Grove Road
- Portage Parkway
- Vaughan Metropolitan Centre
- Willis Drive
- Woodbridge Avenue
Service is provided on weekdays between 10 AM and 2 PM, and on weekends between 8:00 AM and 8 PM.
History
- April 20, 2014 - Route 10 Dial-A-Ride Woodbridge service was introduced to operate during weekends when ridership is low. Buses serve the same stops as route 10 and will operate between 10AM and 8PM on Saturdays, and between 9:30AM and 8PM on Sundays and Holidays.
- August 1, 2017 - Dial-a-Ride service on route 10 is separated into its own distinct service and is now known as Dial-a-Ride Woodbridge.
- December 17, 2017 - The routing of Dial-a-Ride Woodbridge was adjusted to terminate at the new Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station with the opening of the Line 1 subway extension to Vaughan.
- November 3, 2019 - With the opening of the SmartCentres Bus Terminal at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station, on-request vehicles now serve passengers within the terminal.
- April 5, 2020 - As part of a rebranding, the dial-a-ride service was rebranded as Mobility On-Request Woodbridge. With the temporary suspension of route 10 due to low ridership during the COVID-19 pandemic, service hours on weekdays are expanded to operate from 8:00am to 7:45pm.
- September 12, 2020 - Weekend and Holiday service is expanded to operate from 8:00am to 7:45pm.
- July 3, 2022 - Service is expanded to serve stops on Langstaff Road between Edgeley Boulevard and Ansley Grove Road, on Aberdeen Avenue, and on Pine Valley Drive between Chancellor Drive and Steeles Avenue West.
- April 28, 2024 - Service during rush hour is discontinued as conventional service on route 10 is reinstated, reducing weekday service hours to midday only between 10 AM to 1:45 PM. Additionally, service to stops along Aberdeen Avenue, Ansley Grove Road, Blue Willow Drive, Forest Drive, Islington Avenue north of Willis Drive, Langstaff Road east of Islington Avenue, and Pine Valley Drive is discontinued. New service is introduced to new stops along Chancellor Drive and Willis Drive as well.
- June 28, 2024 - Service hours are slightly modified to end 15 minutes later than previously. Weekday service now ends at 2 PM, and weekend service ends at 8 PM.
Vehicles
As an On-Request service, there is no bus service. All services are provided by passenger vehicles with YRT markings.
