Streetsville GO Station is a GO Transit train station located in Mississauga, ON. It is located south of Thomas St. and west of Queen St. (Mississauga Rd.)
The station platform is located in the middle of the two tracks. An underpass at the north end of the platform connects to the middle of the parking lot, while another underpass is roughly 2/3 of the way down the platform, and connects to both the station building (on the south/west side of the tracks) and Old Station Rd. on the north/east side. The bus loop is located next to the station building, well south of Thomas St. A large Passenger Pickup/Dropoff is located in the middle of the bus loop, and the parking lot extends north/west from the bus loop to Thomas St. Tickets are available inside the station building during AM rush hour only; a Ticket Vending Machine is available at other times.
History
Streetsville opened to GO Train service on October 27, 1981 along with the rest of the Milton line. A modest station, it had a small station building on Old Station St. along with a platform on the same side. However, the small community of Streetsville and Mississauga in general grew substantially in the years that followed the opening of Streetsville, and major expansion was undertaken. A new station building and bus loop was constructed on the opposite side of the tracks, along with a parking lot. The station platform was also relocated to the middle of the tracks in order to serve both tracks. This platform was later extended to a 12-car length, and the northern underpass was also opened to provide greater access to the parking lot, which was also majorly expanded.
Connecting routes
GO buses always stop inside the bus loop, and certain local buses extended to meet the trains also serve the loop. Outside of train times, buses serve the station from Queen St.
